Philippines 1320 sqm modern semi-open pickleball arena

This is a modern pickleball arena project designed for a client in the Philippines. The entire steel structure and enclosure system were provided by the Canglong Group. The project perfectly suits the tropical island climate of Southeast Asia, employing an advanced semi-open, staggered-level space design to create a low-carbon, energy-efficient integrated sports space combining sports, spectator services, and leisure.

Addressing the Philippines’ year-round high temperatures, heavy rainfall, and abundant sea breezes, the Canglong Design Team abandoned the traditional, oppressive structure of fully enclosed stadiums and implemented targeted optimizations.

Project Specifications: The stadium measures 40 meters long, 33 meters wide, and 7 meters high, with a total building area of 1320 square meters.

Double-pitched Roof Structure: The classic double-pitched roof offers excellent drainage slope and structural stability, effectively handling the torrential rains of the Philippine typhoon season.

Semi-Open Design: A small portion of the roof and upper walls utilizes lightweight, high-strength single-layer metal sheet, providing sun and rain protection, while the lower sections of the walls are completely open. This air convection layout fully utilizes natural sea breezes, reducing the perceived temperature inside the stadium by more than 35% without relying on energy-intensive central air conditioning.

Large-Span Rigid Frame

To ensure the stringent requirements of indoor visibility and movement trajectories for ball sports, the building’s structural design achieves a breakthrough in large span. 10-meter Golden Column Spacing: The main load-bearing columns and beams are uniformly constructed using high-tensile-strength, high-quality H-beams, while the secondary structure is fitted with CNC-machined C-shaped steel purlins. The span between the steel columns is precisely 10 meters, minimizing interference from internal columns while perfectly creating six standard Peak courts, achieving an ultimate fusion of space utilization and movement flow.

Ingenious Split-Level Design

The stadium features a groundbreaking 10-meter × 3.58-meter integrated steel structure hollow platform, upgrading the space three-dimensionally.

  • Upper Level: Panoramic Grandstand. Offering unobstructed views, it’s designed for spectators to enjoy a commanding view of the exciting matches, creating an excellent interactive viewing atmosphere.
  • Lower Level and Extension Area: Double-layered composite rest area. Cleverly planned as a player lounge, equipment rental area, and tea break/social area, achieving a perfect harmony between active and quiet zones.

100% Prefabricated in Chinese Factories, One-Stop Cross-Border Delivery of Complete Kits

The Philippines lacks heavy-duty precision machining equipment, and on-site construction costs are high. Canglong Group leverages its one-stop kit model to translate the advantages of the Chinese supply chain into absolute project speed.

Zero On-Site Welding: All H-beams and columns undergo precision welding and standardized CNC punching by automated welding robots before leaving the factory.

Closed-Loop Fully Packaged: The packaged items also include gutters, downpipe drainage systems, flashing, and all high-strength bolts and fittings. Local construction teams, guided by Canglong’s digital installation drawings, directly assemble the components using a modular bolt system, halving the construction time.
