The most challenging yet most remarkable aspect of this project lies in its unique sloping terrain. Instead of blindly undertaking large-scale excavation and filling, the design team followed the natural topography, ingeniously designing a double-layered functional interconnected space.

Core Specifications: The building measures 60.77 meters long and 30.92 meters wide, with an eaves height of 13 meters and a total floor area of ​​nearly 1800 square meters.

Low-level Sloping Base: Material Storage Workshop. Utilizing the natural elevation difference between the sloping base and the flat ground, a robust and compact lower-level workshop was constructed, dedicated to storing raw materials and core materials, achieving efficient low-level turnover of heavy-duty materials.

High-level Sloping Top: Core Production Workshop. The upper flat and open area serves as the main production workshop. The large-span, high-clearance design provides extreme flexibility for the layout of automated production lines. The two levels work in tandem, maximizing the efficiency of logistics throughput in the three-dimensional space.

Rugged Framework

To combat Boston’s snowy winters and humid summers, the project’s framework system meets extremely high standards in terms of mechanical strength and corrosion and weather resistance.

Classic Portal Frame: Utilizing a portal frame structure with a main span exceeding 30 meters, the 13-meter-high ceiling provides ample flexibility for future installation of heavy-duty cranes or high-legged shelving.

High-Strength Steel: The main load-bearing beams and columns are uniformly constructed using high-tensile and high-bending-strength H-beams, forming the building’s earthquake-resistant and wind- and snow-resistant steel frame system. The secondary structure is fully equipped with high-precision CNC prefabricated C-shaped steel purlins, forming a stable three-dimensional geometric stress grid.

A Balanced Enclosure System

The upper half of the building and the entire roof utilize lightweight, high-strength modern metal panels.
  • Dual Advantages of Waterproofing and Weather Resistance: The profiled metal sheet system boasts excellent drainage slope and airtightness. Combined with the standard high-capacity gutters and downpipes, it easily withstands Boston’s unpredictable rain and snowstorms.
