3200 sq ft warehouse with office solution for Canadian client
Canglong Group’s integrated warehousing and logistics project, tailored for a Canadian client, has been successfully completed. The project provides an efficient and practical warehousing solution through precise functional adaptation, reliable structural performance, and human-centered spatial design.
I. Basic Building Parameters and Layout
The project consists of a single-story warehouse main structure, with some local functional expansion. The core building dimensions are 80 feet long (approximately 24.38 meters), 40 feet wide (approximately 12.19 meters), and an eaves height of 22 feet (approximately 6.71 meters), with a building area of 3,200 square feet (approximately 297 square meters). The spacious and flat layout fully meets the needs of large-volume storage. The roof adopts a classic double-slope design with optimized slope calculations, balancing drainage efficiency and structural lightness. This adapts to the rain and snow load requirements of Canada’s variable climate while enhancing the modern aesthetics of the building facade.
II. Core Structural System
The project’s load-bearing structure utilizes Q355 H-beams as the main beams and columns. This steel possesses high strength (yield strength ≥355MPa), good weldability, and low-temperature impact toughness, meeting the freeze-thaw resistance requirements of the harsh winter environment of northern Canada. Combined with precise node design and anti-corrosion treatment processes, this ensures the structural stability of the main frame under long-term loads. The roof purlins are made of galvanized C-beams, with a hot-dip galvanized layer (zinc layer thickness ≥275g/㎡) effectively resisting outdoor moisture corrosion. Simultaneously, optimized spacing provides uniform support for the PU roof panels, enhancing the overall wind uplift and snow pressure resistance of the roof system.
III. Flexible Zoning Enhances Efficiency
While meeting basic warehousing needs, the project incorporates diverse functional designs:
Internal Mezzanine: A light steel structure mezzanine is constructed in the central area of the warehouse, reliably connected to the original structure via H-beams. With a ceiling height of approximately 8 feet (2.44 meters), it can serve as a temporary storage area for light goods or an equipment operating platform, effectively improving vertical space utilization.
Office Area: An independent office space is designated along one side of the warehouse, measuring 12 feet (3.66 meters) long and 40 feet (12.19 meters) wide. Separated from the storage area by glass partitions, it is equipped with basic lighting and ventilation systems, meeting daily management and order processing needs while balancing openness and privacy.
IV. Exterior Enclosure and Detailed Configuration
Wall System: The main walls are constructed with 100mm thick PU wall panels, with an outer layer of colored steel plate (customer-specified color optional). The core material is polyurethane foam, offering excellent thermal insulation (thermal conductivity ≤0.024W/m·K), sound insulation (weighted airborne sound insulation ≥30dB), and fire resistance (B1 grade flame retardant). This effectively reduces energy consumption for winter heating and summer cooling while resisting outdoor noise interference.
Roof System: The PU roof panels, matching the double-slope design, are made of the same material as the walls and use a lock-lock connection process. This ensures strong waterproof sealing, and the surface can be treated with an anti-slip finish, combining aesthetics and practicality.
Doors and Windows: The main warehouse entrance features an industrial-grade electric roller shutter door with a concealed track design. Opening and closing is smooth and fast, with a maximum opening width of 16 feet (4.88 meters), allowing forklifts and trucks to enter and exit directly. Multiple plastic-sealed aluminum alloy windows are installed on the side walls, featuring double-glazed glass and EPDM rubber seals. This ensures natural lighting while preventing the infiltration of hot and cold air from the outside, enhancing the comfort of the working environment.
V. Customized Solutions Empower Customer Operations
Leveraging its extensive experience in steel structure construction, Canglong Group precisely tailored its solutions to the Canadian client’s warehousing needs, from structural material selection to functional layout. This project not only ensures long-term safety with a robust frame of Q355 H-beams and galvanized C-beams, but also incorporates detailed design elements such as PU sandwich panel cladding, efficient use of mezzanine space, and a front-door work shed. Balancing cost control and functional expansion, it provides the client with a sturdy, efficient, and comfortable modern warehousing center, helping to reduce costs and increase efficiency in their logistics operations.
