What are the main components of steel structure building?

1. Foundations

The foundation refers to the load-bearing member at the bottom of the steel structure building that is in contact with the foundation, and the lower extension of the structure that is in direct contact with the foundation for load transfer. Its function is to transmit the load of the upper part of the building to the foundation. The foundation must therefore be strong, stable and reliable. Part of the structural components below the ground of the engineering structure are used to transmit the superstructure load to the foundation.

2. Embedded parts

Generally, when doing civil engineering or foundation, for the convenience of installing the structure or equipment on the foundation in the future, the base of some equipment, or anchor bolts, or auxiliary steel plate structures should be placed first when building the foundation. In this way, after the foundation is completed, the subsequent equipment can be easily fixed on the embedded board or embedded parts, which is very common in engineering.

3. Columns

In the engineering structure, the vertical rods that mainly bear the pressure and sometimes bear the bending moment are used to support beams, trusses, floors, etc. The section forms are classified into square column, cylinder, pipe column, rectangular column, I-shaped column, H-shaped column, T-shaped column, L-shaped column, cross-shaped column, double-legged column, and lattice column. The column is the most important part of the steel structure building, and the destruction of the column will lead to the damage and collapse of the entire steel structure building.

The independent column is the column that bears the load of the superstructure of the steel structure building. Structural columns are columns that enhance the structural stability of steel structure building walls. The anti-wind column of the gable wall, as the name suggests, mainly plays the role of anti-wind, and also has the function of anti-vibration and strengthening stability. Because the gable wall is too high as a single piece wall, it is used to strengthen stability and resist wind loads to prevent the gable from becoming unstable. Frame columns and independent columns are both load-bearing compression structural columns. Frame columns are load-bearing structural columns used in frame structures or partial frame structures, and are connected together by frame beams and continuous beams.
